Topics include: the hydrologic cycle,; ground water systems; water quality objective and guidelines; water treatment; demand; disinfection/chlorination; distributions systems; and water treatment and distribution system math.

Environment & Climate Change) This course is intended to prepare Operators to write the Manitoba Small Wastewater Works Certification Exam and should be taken with the Foundations course above. Topics include: wastewater sources and characteristics; guidelines; types of stabilization ponds (lagoons); lagoon operation and maintenance; microbiological processes; mechanical treatment processes; sludge handling disinfection and de-chlorination, wastewater collection systems; testing/sampling; regulatory requirements; and wastewater math. | Water Treatment Class 1April 22 to 25, 2024 Exam Date: April 26, 2024 (Register for Exam with MB Environment & Climate Change) This course is intended to prepare Operators to write the Manitoba Water Treatment Class I Certification Exam. Topics include: the hydrologic cycle, ground water systems, water quality parameters, guidelines and regulations, conventional treatment, slow sand filtration, fluoridation, iron and manganese removal, scaling and corrosion, taste and odor control, disinfection/chlorination, testing/sampling, and water treatment math. |
